Question 1: Describe a situation where you had to analyze and interpret data from a behavioral assessment tool. How did you use that information to inform your decision-making as a Community Corrections Officer?

In my previous role, I worked with the LSI-R (Level of Service/Case Management Inventory - Revised) tool to assess an offender's risk level and develop an appropriate case plan. I carefully reviewed the results, looking for patterns and correlations between specific items on the assessment. Based on this analysis, I identified areas where the offender required targeted interventions and made recommendations to my supervisor for increasing supervision levels. Through data-driven decision-making, we were able to adjust our strategies and ultimately reduce recidivism rates in our caseload.

Community Corrections Officer 2 (CCO2) - Position TP77

Pierce County Special Assault Unit - South

Lakewood, WA

The Community Corrections Division has a permanent, full time Community Corrections Officer 2 (CCO2) opening available. This position, TP77, is within the Pierce County Special Assault Unit South, which is located in Lakewood, WA.

The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Work hours are determined by unit needs and are at the discretion of the unit supervisor.   If you are currently working an alternate work schedule, please be aware that this position may not be able to honor that schedule. For questions, please contact the Human Resource Office.

Qualifications

In accordance with Article 4.7 of the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE) 2023-2025 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), this job opening is available to internal transfer candidates ONLY. 

Employees who meet the following criteria may apply: 

  • You are requesting a transfer under Article 4.7 of the WFSE CBA.
  • You are a permanent DOC employee.
  • You currently hold permanent status in the job class being recruited for in this job posting.
  • You are currently in a position represented by WFSE.
