BOTHELL, Wash. —Friends and family of Mallory Barbour, 27, of Bothell, are searching for answersafter her remains were discovered in a wooded area of Mason Countymonths after she was reported missing.
Barbour was last seen leaving her home in Bothell on June 24, and her remains were later found the morning of Sept. 15 near State Route 3 and Pickering Road. The Mason County Coroner confirmed that it appeared Barbour had been dead for months and had been shot multiple times.
“Mallory was amazing, Mallory was so full of love and life, she’s just the last person that deserved to have this happen to her,” Ashley Ainge, who’s known Barbour for years. Said. “Even when things got hard, she had the best attitude ever, always the life of the party.”
Friends reported Barbour missing after she suddenly stopped communicating in June.
“That was really really mind blowing I think, she’s always really online,” Ainge said. “It was really out of the blue for that much time to have passed without her saying anything to anyone.”
The Mason County Sheriff’s Office is investigating Barbour’s death and is urging anyone with information to come forward with information that could help give Barbour’s loved ones answers.
“Who was she with? How was it done? We all just want those kinds of answers and that closure because what happened to her is just terrible,” Rachel Lowe, who’s known Barbour for over a decade, said.
“That made me ask questions – who is it that I know, that we know, that she knows that’s around here that would ever want to cause harm to her?” Ainge added. “It really just made me question the people around me, the people who know Mal. Nothing’s out of the question; if anything, it just makes me feel nervous about the people around us.”
Friends are planning a memorial to honor Barbour on Saturday at the Silverdale Community Church at 4 p.m.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Det. Ledford at 360-427-9670 ext. 844 or email [email protected] and reference Case #25-15562.”I really want to find the person who did this to her so they can be punished,” Lowe said. “She left behind friends, family, and we never got that chance to say goodbye to her or tell her how much she meant to us, and that person stripped us of that.”
