Created by the WA State Legislature, the WA Cares Fund (WCF) offers affordable long-term care insurance coverage to all working Washingtonians. This is a rare opportunity to become one of the founding team members as we introduce the nation’s first long-term services and supports social insurance program. 

DSHS’s Home & Community Living Administration (HCLA) WCF is hiring key team members now to assist as we move toward the full implementation of the program. The innovative work that you do now will aid qualified people and their authorized representatives to apply for and access their earned benefits that help pay for daily-living activities. Some of what you will do: 

• Oversee the provider’s intake and contract navigation process. Providing feedback, recommendations and information and process provider applications and registrations
• Coordination of provider cases regarding appeals, beneficiary complaints, and the monitoring process to include acting as the liaison with internal DSHS entities and external entities such as Area Agencies on Aging, Office of Administrative Hearings, and community-based social service organizations
• Influencing the ongoing development of statewide Provider Network policies and procedures in response to the evolving needs of the program
• Responsible for the development of regionally and culturally appropriate WA Cares Provider outreach and recruitment strategies
• Prepares preliminary findings reports and Performance Improvement Plans for the provider and upload them to their file
• Assists Administrator and other Staff interpreting policies, and procedures; obtains clarification from Policy Staff regarding contracts and monitoring as needed
• Review provider application materials and determine eligibility
• Facilitate provider application and contracting
• Coordinate and partner with the Training Unit to deliver training to staff and providers on various subjects (e.g. registration, contracting, ProviderOne, and Quality Assurance Audits/Monitoring)
• Research and develop connections with regional providers, employers, community-based organizations, agencies, tribes, and other business partners
• Route providers to internal and external partners including Policy Program Managers for more complex issues and Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) for local providers

Who should apply:  Professionals with…

One year of experience as a Social and Health Program Consultant 3 or equivalent, 
OR 
Two years of experience as a Social and Health Program Consultant 2 or equivalent, 
OR 
A master’s degree in social work, a health or social science, public administration or a related field; AND Four years of professional experience in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health, or chemical dependency treatment services programs, 
OR 
A bachelor’s degree in social work, a health or social science, public administration or a related field; AND Five years of professional experience in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health, or chemical dependency treatment services programs, 
OR 
A combination of professional/practical hands-on experience of nine to ten years, in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health, or chemical dependency treatment services programs  
 
A degree in Social Work must be from an educational program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education
