Join our team as a Food Service Worker at our newest behavioral health treatment campus, Maple Lane in Grand Mound, near Centralia, WA.  We’re seeking a skilled leader dedicated to food service management and a commitment to excellence.

Behavioral Health Treatment Center Maple Lane offers innovative treatment for residents who are civilly committed, in need of competency restoration, or adjudicated not guilty by reason of mental diagnosis. Each residential unit helps shape the future of behavioral health, aligning with Washington State’s vision of community-based care. Treating residents in smaller facilities helps them stay closer to home, family, and support systems, fostering stronger community connections. 

The Food Service Worker (FSW) position, under the overall supervision of a Food Service Supervisor or Lead, is responsible for safe and accurate meal preparation, delivery, service and sanitation/cleaning of all food service and dining areas. The position also works to support meal and snack assembly processes ensuring food items are delivered as planned and ordered by the dietician or doctor.

Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary. Evening shifts include a shift differential in addition to the standard compensation rate. 

 Some of what you will do:

• Knowledge of food preparation and portioned serving.
• Ability to verbally in writing communicate and work effectively with various levels of staff as required to carry out the assigned duties of the position
• Ability to read and follow standardized recipes and prescribed meal orders.
• Ability to apply and follow food safety and sanitation regulations to daily operations.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen atmosphere.
• Ability to show patience, tolerance, respect towards others especially those who may demonstrate a variety of behavior and/or physical needs.
• Skill and motor coordination required to prepare food and operate dietary equipment.
• Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions.
• Ability to follow oral and written direction.
• Ability to work with persons who have behavioral/psychiatric/social/medical and/or correctional problems and who may exhibit bizarre and/or aggressive behavior.
• Demonstrate the ability to lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds.
