SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. — Two suspects who attempted to steal a trailer led Snohomish County Sheriff’s deputies on a pursuit Thursday morning that ended with one suspect being pulled from a river.
The incident began when a homeowner attempted to stop two people from the trailer from his property. The suspects rammed their van into the victim’s truck, causing front-end damage and leaving the victim with minor injuries.
Deputies located the suspects’ van and initiated a pursuit from Quarry Road to the Beaver Creek Campground area. The two suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
One suspect jumped into a river and floated downstream before climbing out on the opposite bank. Deputies crossed the river and took him into custody. He was transported to Providence Hospital by ambulance for treatment of possible hypothermia.
The sheriff’s office is continuing to search for the second suspect. The investigation remains active.
