The school is offering sack lunches for pickup on Friday and Monday from 9 a.m. to noon at two locations:
The Emerson Elementary School building itself requires substantial repairs and will remain closed for an extended period.
Emerson Elementary staff are working to transition students to the Old Van Asselt building, also known as the Van Asselt Interim Site. The district uses the building to temporarily host schools during the replacement or renovation of their permanent buildings.
The timeline for when students will begin classes at the Van Asselt Interim Site is still being determined. Principal Keyunda said the school will share updates as soon as they are available.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
