SEATTLE — The Seattle Kraken unveiled the team’s roster Monday for the first game of the regular season, and 19-year-old phenom Berkly Catton is among the group.
The Kraken’s season opener is scheduled for Thursday night at Climate Pledge Arena against the Anaheim Ducks. Catton is one of four players making their first NHL roster out of camp, along with Cale Fleury, Jani Nyman and Ryan Winterton.
The Kraken also are taking three goalies on the active roster into the regular season, with Matt Murray joining Joey Daccord and Philipp Grubauer on the squad. Seattle has generally kept just two goalies on the active roster in years past, but elected to keep Murray after signing the veteran in free agency.
Kaapo Kakko has been ruled out for at least another month with a broken hand, and will begin the season on injured reserve for the Kraken.
73 Kraken regular-season games will be televised live on either KING or KONG during the 2025-26 regular season. In addition to games, We and KONG are home to Kraken Home Ice, a weekly magazine show, during the season. The show features team-focused feature stories, player and coach interviews, and more. New episodes air on Saturdays starting Oct. 4 at 10:30 p.m. on KONG and We+. Encore presentations will air on Sundays starting Oct. 5 at 11:35 p.m. on We and We+.
