SEATTLE —The Mariners’ chase for a chance in the World Series is being celebrated by fans of all ages, including some young baseball fans who say they look up to this team.
On a normal Saturday at The Hive, an indoor baseball facility in Seattle, you’ll findNorthwest Sting Baseballplayers perfecting their swing. But today isn’t any other Saturday.
It’s the day before Game 6 of the American League Championship Series (ALCS). And the Mariners are just one win away from a first-ever appearance in the World Series.

“I just think it’ll be awesome that I can witness history,” said Andrew Martin, a young Sting Baseball player.
Some of the team’s youngest fans, like this travel baseball team, are watching their favorite players closely.
“Cal Raleigh, obviously,” Willem Kohn said when asked who he liked best on the team. “I’m a catcher, too.”
“I’ve been him for Halloween, and he posted me on his Instagram,” Lechak exclaimed. “He’s my favorite player because he’s one of my role models, and he’s also my number for Sting Baseball.”
The Mariners’ success in the 2025 season has been something for these young players to look up to.
“It motivates me to practice more and get stronger and better,” said Milo Kim.
Some of them have been lucky enough to catch some of the biggest highlights in person. Like Martin, who went to Friday’s Game 5 win against the Toronto Blue Jays with his grandmother.
“It was awesome,” he said. “My grandma actually asked me, ‘who’s going to be the player of the game?’ And I said Suarez. And he had a grand slam!”
Kohn was able to watch one of his favorite player’s, Cal Raleigh, record moment.
But there are still more Mariners highlights to be checked off these fans’ bucket lists, like a hopeful run for the Commissioner’s Trophy.
“I would want to go to a game so bad and see them play,” Lechak said with a smile.
Watching the M’s in the World Series is a shared dream between these four teammates.
“I’m trying to convince my dad to get tickets,” Kim continued, “but they’re really expensive.”
