SEATTLE — The University of Washington enrolled 63,727 students across its three campuses this fall, marking enrollment gains at Seattle, Bothell, and Tacoma for the 2025-26 academic year.

The figures, released this month as part of the university’s annual census count, show total enrollment increased 1.1% to 52,316 at the Seattle campus, up from 51,719 last year. UW Bothell saw the largest percentage jump at 4.7%, growing to 6,361 students, while UW Tacoma climbed 1.6% to 5,059 students.

Washington residents make up nearly three-quarters of the incoming class, accounting for 74.1% of new first-year and transfer students across all three campuses — consistent with recent years.

The incoming class totals 12,126 students, including 7,129 first-year students at the Seattle campus, 1,157 at Bothell, and 737 at Tacoma.

Among new students, 5,875 first-year and transfer students at the Seattle campus are Washington residents, along with 1,709 at Bothell and 1,403 at Tacoma.

The number of Washington community college transfer students entering the UW system increased across all three campuses, reaching 2,517 this fall. Seattle enrolled 1,399 community college transfers, Bothell added 505, and Tacoma welcomed 613.

Overall, transfer students — including those from community colleges in Washington and other states, as well as four-year institutions — totaled 1,685 at the Seattle campus, 649 at Bothell, and 769 at Tacoma.

International student enrollment dropped approximately 7% to 7,893 across the three campuses, reflecting a nationwide trend. The Seattle campus has 7,439 international students, while Bothell enrolled 258 and Tacoma has 197.

Of the total 63,727 students, 46,079 are undergraduates and 17,648 are pursuing graduate or professional degrees.
