Salary:  $56,880.00 - $76,608.00 Yearly. The salary does not include an additional 5% premium pay for employees working in King County or an on-site 24/7 facility 5% premium.

We're looking for a Program Specialist 3 to manage and administer the Integrated Developmental Evaluation & Assessment (IDEA) and the Sexually Aggressive Vulnerable Youth (SAVY) Assessments for youth, and the Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Expression (SOGIE) Assessment within Echo Glen Children's Center.

The Opportunity:

Using your understanding of assessment concepts, motivation, and engagement skills, you will interview youth entering into Juvenile Rehabilitation and gather pertinent information from the youth's community providers and families. You will validate and analyze the information received from various sources to complete the assessments, and then interpret it before it is entered into the IDEA. This process includes a 120–day IDEA reassessment on all JR. youth. You are also expected to participate in, and conduct, necessary trainings, meetings, and Inter-Rater Reliability (IRR) specific exercises.

Some of what you will do:

• Meet with youth face to face and conduct the IDEA assessment.
• Completes approximately 20 IDEA assessments per month.
• Conduct SAVY and SOGIE assessments and CSE-IT screening on all new intakes.
• Contact family, treatment providers, community courts, prior DCYF placements, and other collateral contacts that apply to the individual.
• Document all relevant information in the Automated Client Tracking (ACT) database.
• Participate in regular QA and IRR meetings and exercises.
• Participate in all trainings related to assessments and treatment knowledge.
• Train JR staff on how to administer assessments and use in practice.

Required Qualifications:

Six (6) years of experience in the juvenile justice or social service field providing, screening or assessment, or therapeutic or rehabilitation services with clients from diverse backgrounds who have complex needs.

OR

A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Public Health, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Mental Health, Healthcare Administration or a related field and 2 years of experience in the juvenile justice or social service field providing screening or assessment, or therapeutic or rehabilitation services with clients from diverse backgrounds who have complex needs.

OR

Associate’s Degree in Social Work, Public Health, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Mental Health, Healthcare Administration or a related field and 4 years of experience in the juvenile justice or social service field providing screening or assessment, or therapeutic or rehabilitation services with clients from diverse backgrounds who have complex needs.

AND 

1. The ability to take action to learn and grow.
2. The ability to take action to meet the needs of others.

In addition to those required qualifications, our ideal applicant will also have some or all of the following:

• Working knowledge of the function of risk and protective factors as the influence juvenile justice involved youth’s progress and outcomes.
• Working knowledge of the Integrated Developmental Evaluation & Assessment (IDEA) tool.
• Working knowledge of risk and needs assessment tools in relation to adolescent case management.
• Working knowledge of the Juvenile Rehabilitation Integrated Treatment Model.
• Working knowledge of evidence-based programs to reduce recidivism
• Working knowledge of the Juvenile justice continuum of care.
• Ability to interview youth and families in a sensitive and effective manner to gather valid information for the IDEA to support the family’s engagement in the treatment process.
• Ability to use professional judgement and training to interpret interview information and complete the IDEA assessment.
