- 개별화 및 집단 치료: 치료팀의 권고에 따라 일대일 및 소규모 집단 치료 세션을 진행합니다.
- 전환 및 퇴원 지원: 지역사회 통합 활동을 포함한 전환 및 퇴원 계획 지원.
- 감독 및 훈련: 치료 레크리에이션 실습에서 학생, 실습 참가자 및 자원봉사자를 훈련하고 감독합니다.
- 자원 관리 및 전문성 개발: 필요한 자원을 확보하고, 임상 연구에 참여하며, 병원 전체 위원회와 재직 중인 서비스에 기여합니다.

DSHS BHA Recreation Therapist 2
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Recreation Therapist 2 to join our team at the Child Study and Treatment Center (CSTC) in Lakewood, WA. As a Recreation Therapist, you will work with youth aged 5-17, serving as an integral member of our interdisciplinary team. Your role will involve providing comprehensive Recreation Therapy services, including conducting assessments, planning and implementing therapeutic interventions, and overseeing treatment groups and special events. CSTC offers a dynamic environment where activity-based interventions, such as Expressive Arts, Adventure Therapy, Sports/Fitness, and Music, play a crucial role in the treatment and support of our patients. Work Schedule: Tuesday - Friday; 10:00 AM - 8:30 PM
Pierce County employees are eligible to receive an Orca Card for transportation needs. Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.
Some of what you'll do:
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Participate in treatment planning, discharge meetings, and interdisciplinary team activities.
- Patient Assessment and Care Planning: Perform assessments, develop individualized therapeutic recreation plans, and implement interventions for behavioral improvements.
- Activity Leadership: Organize and lead 15-20 recreational therapy activities weekly, both inside and outside the hospital.
- Individualized and Group Therapy: Conduct one-on-one and small group therapy sessions as recommended by the treatment team.
- Transition and Discharge Support: Assist in transition and discharge planning, including community integration activities.
- Supervision and Training: Train and oversee students, practicum participants, and volunteers in therapeutic recreation practices.
- Resource Management and Professional Development: Secure necessary resources, participate in clinical studies, and contribute to hospital-wide committees and in-services.
What we're looking for:
- Ability to confidently lead groups of youth with mental and behavioral health challenges.
- Strong planning skills to effectively organize and execute recreational activities and special events.
- Physical ability to lift and move supplies and participate in activities such as camping, swimming, and bike riding.
- The skills to intervene and de-escalate crises, including safely managing potentially dangerous situations in accordance with agency policies.
- Ability to work independently and handle responsibilities without constant supervision.
- A thorough understanding of safety protocols and agency procedures to maintain a secure environment.
- Experience in managing and responding to potentially harmful behaviors and situations.
- Willingness to obtain a certification from the National Council of Therapeutic Recreation (NCTRC).
