Registered Nurse 2 On Call – WSP

Description

The Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking highly motivated and qualified individuals to take on the dynamic role of Registered Nurse within the Health Services Division at the Washington State Penitentiary (WSP) located in Walla Walla Washington.

At this time we have the following positions available: 

On Call

(Various shifts/hours available)

Duties

On-Call nurses:

• Be available to work all shifts (day, swing and graveyard) including weekends and holidays.
• Be willing to work a minimum of 10 shifts a month.
• Provide written availability by the 10th of each month for the following month's coverage.
• Be willing to complete a paid three-week correctional worker core training M-F from 8 to 4:30 pm. 

Qualifications

 On-Call nurses:

• Tuberculosis (TB) is a priority health issue for DOC employees. The successful candidate may be required to provide valid proof of a baseline TB skin test within 60 days of the date of hire.  When positive tests result, further information, testing and treatment may also be required. • If this position is included in a Union Shop, employees will be required to become members within thirty (30) days of employment.
• Requires respirator medical evaluation questionnaire, fit testing, training, and use of respiratory protection as required by the WA Industrial Safety & Act standards. Refer to WAC 296-842 to learn more.
• Must be able to work in spaces, climb stairs, walk long distances, and frequently lift up to 30 pounds. Under rare circumstances this position may be required to lift or carry up to 50 pounds and push up to 100 pounds.
