At approximately 10:41 p.m. on Oct. 9, deputies from the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) were sent to a house on 7th Ave. Court E. in the Loveland area after receiving reports that a man had been shot.
Neighbors told deputies they heard several gunshots coming from the home, but initial attempts to contact those inside were unsuccessful.
Deputies forced entry and found Hayes and Jones dead in a bedroom. While searching the house, they found a 14-year-old girl hiding in a bedroom closet.
The teenager was not involved in the shooting and was released to family members.
